Additional features ---
Though not as tall as his western nation counterparts, Yao doesn't mind the height of 5'6 that has been his companion since the first years that his mind still holds onto. Yao is a holder of dark brown almost black hair that falls well past his shoulders and onto his back. Seeing it fall so low however is a privilege few get to see as he more then always has it pulled up into a tight but low ponytail. The styling of his hair and the feminine body type that he holds often subjects him to being called a lady.
Clothing in itself also sometimes subjects him to the same callings. but this does not result in his wearing them any less.
Often dressed in a mandarin jacket, normally green or red if he wishes for a lucky day, he holds tightly to traditional values of his people and their dress styles. While he may be dressed in such tradition based clothing while at home, when in battle or if war must break out you will see him in his military outfit, with a red armband decorated with a yellow star on his left upper arm.
When undressed, the one they call a lady holds a surprise
From the front he is obviously a man, but his details are rather poor. His small figure also reflects on the slight thinness of his body of which the huge population, and the starving people reflect on him, the nation.

Personality --- The quiet type when he is by himself and truthfully rather quiet when he is around others as well. He seems rather cold if you meet him from a distance. Those that know him, however, know he is far from the cold type. A rather cheerful demeanor and an overly loving nature leads him to be a good ally and a good friend.
He is a lover of all things cute. From little baby animals to huge stuffed dolls of a very Japanese cat. He can go from being a very three Cs personality to that resembling a 5 year old. Rather clingy to said cute things he will more then often hug them in till he is calm enough to let go.
When in company, he will resist the urge to cling to anything cute but enough tempting will bring out his cute clingy nature. This is also easy to say it is easy to bribe him with cute objects.
Modest in nature he never shows to much of his body in public. As he believes, like his people, that actions of romance or even personal affairs should be handled at home. He is rather an easy one to embarrass though and can easily be made into a blushing mess.
A lover of fine dining he is an extremely picky eater. Not fond of very similar tastes or bad taste he will easily tell you that he'd prefer something else, but all the while being very polite about it. This politeness normally present can be,however, thrown to the far side when it comes to the cooking of a few selective nations.
Behind the good nature and the loving side of him, there is a darker side as there is with everyone.Blessed to be the oldest of the still surviving nations he has wisdom and knowledge wished by many but obtained by few. This wisdom however comes with a price and for Yao it is an inland feeling of regret and fear on many subjects and a very distrustful nature of almost everyone.
To counter balance all of the kind traits the eldest Asian nation holds dear for himself and his people, is the knowledge that Yao is an easy one to 'snap'. Easily angered, he can have bouts of rage that leads to many holds in the walls of his home. Be it from punching, kicking or throwing things at it, or at times all three.
~His Strengths~
The first thing one most know of Yao's strengths is that he is immortal. Many human scholars have spoke that if China ever were to fall so would the rest of the world. Yao himself never let this become a truth written in stone as he believed it was just a simple thought by the humans.
A vast amount of knowledge is hidden within him, and he knows the lay of the land and how it has changed over the time that he has been alive. He has watched as empires grew and empires fell. Countries start out small and grow to be large.
A Master of the fighting arts of his people. He is not afraid to bring up a foot and kick you into the nearest wall if you anger him in any form or fashion. He is more then willing to teach his skills but normally gets to frustrated to finish.
Once an ally, always an ally. It seems funny that such a large nation would remain at the side of so many other countries, but Yao does not put his trust in others blindly. Not any longer at least.
~and his Weaknesses~
His easily discouraged nature. The past offers bad memories and once brought up he can either be easily enraged or easily put down both a weakness to him upon themselves.
His distrusting nature makes it hard to become his true ally, which could easily call a defeat if he were not to protect himself upfront.
He is highly superstitious believing in many forms of bad luck and good luck, yet is far from the religious type. This gains him a weakness but also a strength. He becomes paranoid under certain circumstances but also enlightened by others. He avoids any talks of God or high beings which can cause a distance between himself and other nations at times.
Many years in his past he was introduced to opium. This drug was used wisely by his bosses at the time. That is however in till the western nation of Great Britain brought with him the desire to spread the drug into further reaches against Yao's wishes. This other nation is still given the cold shoulder even in modern times, however, the encounter with so much use of the drug still has a lingering effect on him. While he may avoid opium and it's effects now, he is drawn to it as well without true will power to stop himself.

History ---
{Many aspects of China in early years are set up to where it was as if another country in and of itself fought against the Chinese main. In these aspects I have tried to either make it seem reasonable or skip these events due to their complexity. Most of my history of China will be around the more Modern years of Chinese history. Dealing with other nations in trade or in war.}
• 2300 B.C--- The three great leaders come to power in Early China. Yao, Shun and Yu,ruling in order respectfully. It was in this time that King Yao blessed the young child nation with his human name. Wang Yao
• 2200 B.C ---The flood during this period was among one of the greater disasters of Chinese history. It was then flood finally controlled by Yu that has eternally spooked Yao gaining him his phobia of such waters in modern times.
•1046 B.C --- The year of the Battle of Muye which was fought between the Zhou and Shang Dynasties.
111 B.C ----First Conquer of Vietnam.
43 A.D--- 2nd major domination over Vietnam. This however was met later on in 248 with Trieu's Rebellion, in which the female leader of Vietnam pushed the Chinese out of Vietnam but came to only be back under control of the Chinese soon after.
•220 A.D --- Start of the Three Kingdoms Period.[ Wu,Wei and Shu] It was in this time period that Yao was met for the second time, between one of the hugest complex battles for control of China in his young life. Forced to suffer the effects of war from multiple side while being pulled to support one side or another depending on which leader came to speak to him. The Young nation of China even if not a baby anymore was met for once with the selfish desires of his mortal people. Even if they fought for their good human ideals.
280 A.D --- The Conquest of Wu which brought about the reunification of China after the War of the Three Kingdoms.
Yao was met once more with complete control over his nation and met once more with one main Boss which came under the Jin Dynasty.
581 - 617 A.D --- Within The Sui Dynasty Yao's strength in relations grew [with Japan] but also fell with Vietnam and Korea. It was in this Dynasty that the grand Canal was completed but also the third domination of Vietnam occurred and the Goguryeo–Sui Wars continued and was later lost. In this year too however the first Japanese missions to China began.
1271 A.D --- The start of the adventure of Marco Polo and his brother. A pair of Italian brothers that are said to be the first Europeans in China. His written adventure gave the Europeans a quick look into the Chinese's hidden world.
In this time period Yao met with these brothers, older now he was a keen one to observe these two men from a far off land.

1839 - 1842 --- The First Opium war begins between England and China over the Opium trade.
Yao, just like his emperor of the time believed that outsiders of China were all just areas of the world used as vassal states. While trade was done between other nations, they were nothing more then just aid for the growing of China. Great Britain was no different in this aspect and as the British pushed their own ways into the vastness of China it soon lead to an all out war. Not just over Opium but over the principles of many things. China came to lose this war and because of it the Treaty of Nanking was signed. The start of the unequal treaties as China has said. The biggest fall to Yao..was losing Hong Kong to England.
1851 --- The Taiping Rebellion. That despite the Opium wars in later stages France and England helped fight alongside China.
1855 ---The Bubonic plague hits hard
1856-1860 --- The Second Opium War begins. This one more destructive then the last.
Yao not only watched as his summer palaces were burned the ground but also was met at the end with legalization of the opium trade.
[In Head cannon for myself and Himu, Yao worked for Arthur and Francis during this period. Though diving deeper, England had all but taken control over Yao's every move and action.]
1884-1885--- The Sino-French War between China and France for who to better rule over Tonkin. While France was said to gain their aims during the war many consider them to have won the small war. However in Taiwan and a few other chinese areas they still believe they won the war.
1894-1895--- The First Sino-Japanese War.
1900---Boxer Rebellion
Yao faced no hesitation to finally snap, and go against the barbarians that were all over his country. Fighting alongside the Anti Foreign Faction of the war he fought to destroy the nations that thought it so simple to divide him and his land up between themselves. Emotionally hurt, physically weakened he lost all sense of himself.
1901--- The Boxer Protocol, or as it is called in China The Xinchou Treaty.
Later to be known as another of the unequal treaties, this was signed between China and the nations that faced it in the Boxer Rebellion. Much Chinese embarrassment in the form of apologizes to respective nations and their losses occurred and despite the pity for the other nations this only made Yao's anger grow larger.
In more modern years much of China's debt to the respective nations have been cleared due to agreements.
1911---Wuchang Uprising. In which the Qing Dynasty fell and became the Republic of China.
1937-1945 --- The Second Sino-Japanese War
During these events, the Rape of Nanking occurred, the incident in which Kiku caused the large scar on Yao's back to be created. Yao still to this day holds a deep resentment towards Kiku for the attack and the man slaughter of his people, from the infants to the elderly. Even if many Japanese will stand tall and say it never happened.
It was during this war that WW2 occurred and China was drawn into the middle of it along side most of South East Asia due to Japan's expanding.
1949- Formation of the the People's Republic of China. The split between Taiwan and Mainland China.
1950-1953--- China aided North Korea in the Korean war but only after the Allied/South Korean troops pushed the North back so far that they threatened China's border.

1962---The Sino-Indian War
1991---Transfer of sovereignty over Macau

Roleplay example ---
April, 1860
* 6 months after the lose of the 2nd Opium war.*
Yao let the end of the pipe slip from his lips as he let another breath of smoke escape his lips. A glaze was held in his eyes and his body seemed so much thinner and ever the more pale then the years prior to England's 2nd treaty over him and his people. He brought the pipe once more to his lips before taking a puff.
"British Bastard..."The words seemed to escape his lips as if he was in a fit of erotic pleasure before laughing to himself. "So are the sounds he desires to hear aru." He shifted his legs on the silk fabric of his bed curling the thin figures closer to himself before pushing off the bed.
His steps were slow, weak and his balance was a hard one to maintain but over the years he had gained the ability to walk like a drunk learns how to balance despite the intoxication. [He was a nation as well making him less weakened to such humanly creations].
The maid at the door gasped as she heard the door in which she guarded open.
"Ah! Sir you should stay in your room!"
Sir...The way she spoke sounded so...British. He hated how all of his maids had either been taken away or the ones that Arthur favored were dressed in European style clothes and ran around as if they had more freedom.
Yao gave her no reply but walked past her taking in the the slight differences of his palace since the Europeans had taken control of it. "Where is Great Britain aru?" He faced her eyes seeming to drive themselves into her soul.
"H-he is in his office in the east wing sir..."
"Show me to him."
"Ah..Sir you should remain here unde"
"Show me to him aru!"
The maid jumped looked down quickly. "Ah, of course. This way sir."
She lead him to the east side of what used to be his palace to the office in which Yao used to sit while his Boss did his work. He hated that everything that was once 'his' now belonged to the British Barbarian that called himself a gentlemen. The maid bowed to him as she opened the door to his office then went to bow to Arthur who she found to be absent.
"...He.."He let out a soft gasp as Yao walked past her into the office. "Sir you shouldn't.."She had at this point discovered it was useless to try and prevent the elder from going anywhere.
Yao ran his fingers over the desk as he walked by it. It had to be imported such wood such weak craftmanship could not have come from his land. He let a soft laugh escape as his fingers knocked against a small bottle. His eyes scanned the words on the paper covering it. His English was weak but he knew was it said.
"So your addicted to the drug too, Great Britain ahen?"
