• Ǧ umhūriyyat Miṣr al-ʿArabiyyah
Name --- Gupta Muhammad Hassan
Nation --- The Arab Republic of Egypt
Aliases --- Guppy, Eggy
Apparent age --- 20
Actual age --- 761
Gender--- Male
|-|-The External-|-|
Eye color --- Green
Hair color ---Brown
Height --- 5'6”
Weight --- 125 lbs
Skin tone --- light brown (ignoring the anime)
Defining features --- Egypt has a small earring on his left ear. At times his skin looks very rough and warn due to weathering sand storms and other similar natural phenomons. To compensate for this in social and formal situations (especially those outside of his territory) he will apply lotions and oils before the event in question to soften his appearance. If he needs to look more rough, he obviously won't take the time to do so.
Additional features --- Gupta has a smaller build and doesn't stand very tall. However, unlike some other smaller nations, he doesn't look like a breeze will blow him over. Within his petite stature is a solidarity that he inherited from his mother. It's the grace of a nation who knows the whip of being possessed and still remaining culturally and even globally relevant. He often wears a white keffiyeh and more drab colors when he is within his own borders or nations of a similar cultural and geological make up. However, when he is outside of his nation, his attire does not always include the head gear and his wardrobe has more variance. When he is not in a his uniform, he enjoys to wear white robes and other simple attire. He's never been particularly fussy when it comes to clothing, but he does have a few golden armlets that he likes to wear. The hair under his keffiyeh is short and a dark brown that is still distinguishable from black. His facial expressions don't range very far and only extreme emotions ever warrant an obvious transition from his natural neutral look.

Personality ---
While Egypt has long been a nation of contentment, willing to allow the status quo operate with little opposition, he has begun to change. With the new millennium, he no longer wishes to be considered a relic of the past and he will fight to strive for a new tomorrow. As a legitimately influential nation with a diversified economy, he feels he should be more than just a key to the Islamic world for Western Nations. But he understands that he must find change within his own borders before he can attempt to change how he is perceived.
Egypt has a mysterious air about him. It's very difficult to tell what he's thinking by looking at him, but he is far from thoughtless or emotionless. Like many his people, he tends to be docile until something forces him to act. He can be rather fiery when he is excited and if put into a position that requires him to act decisively, he can be rather cruel. But this part of him only comes out in rare instances.
Generally speaking, he is a very kind and hospitable nation. By the more relaxed standards of the Western world, he would be considered very conservative but only like many of the nations he is lumped in, he is well educated and has a culture of academics and learning. Egypt prefers to keep his relations with most nations formal but with a touch of friendliness. In these dynamic times, he prefers to choose his friends carefully and is less likely to accept a new friendship until things have settled down. On the other hand, Egypt's long tradition of tourism makes his borders relatively open to visitors. He loves showing other nations the relics his mother left and often supports foreign expeditions on his land.

Roleplay example ---
(Building of the Suez Canal)
A canal connecting the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. It seemed like a good idea and he usually appreciated things from his mother. France had found her old waterway in the same area. If she had thought it was a good idea, could it really be that bad? It could be. His mother had lived in different circumstances, in a different world. These two nations that were being so involved had been children if even born most of her life. His mother had contended with few other nations. He had been born into servitude and a submissive position. This canal wasn't being funded by him, but a French man and it's construction was opposed by the British Empire. Would it even be his canal when it was finished or just a canal that sat upon his land and was owned by another? But his Khedive had given permission. He had no choice. The canal would be built and the ramifications would have to be prepared for.
Gupta walked along a path toward the work area. In spite of his neutral disposition, he wasn't happy. This couldn't be justified away. He didn't like France, but the french had a point. England had used slave labor to build his rail ways and now he acted like slave labor was atrocious. It was an affront to all morality to condemn something just because it no longer served you. Egypt's people deserved better than this. He placed his hand on the side wall of a path. The sun was hot. It was always easiest to see the division of labor in weather like this. A man's status could quickly be determined by how harsh of an environment he was expected to deal with. At the lowest were men who weren't allowed to stop if the entire Earth burned. Would his people always fall into that category?
Had France's people ever been there? Did they understand in their bones the kind of life they were placing on others? It didn't get as hot in France, though it did get hot. It didn't matter. It wasn't just France's fault. Perhaps it wasn't even mostly his fault. This was Egypt's life. His passions and his beliefs were as important as knowing the exact time the wind will blow in a given day. This canal was proof that he needed to find a time to create a change. If it took two hundred years, he would find it. A day would come that Egypt wouldn't toil for another nation. Even if his own people were deemed unfit rulers, at least it would be their own fault. Oh well. That day was not today. He moved to join his people and get some work done. Maybe this canal would one day mean more than foreign investment in his region.
