Eye color --- amber brown
Hair color --- auburn
Height --- 172 cm (5'7)
Weight --- 63 kg
Skin tone --- fair
Defining features ---
One of things that sticks out about Veneziano, quite literally sticks out. He has a rather obnoxious hair curl that sticks out on the left side of his head. No matter how hard he tries, it never goes down. Another thing in the fact that for some reason he finds it necessary to squint 90 percent of his life, leaving people to wonder what on earth is with his eyes.
Additional features ---
His body is really nothing special, just average. He is perhaps a little squishy in some places because he eats too much. Veneziano doesn't really have any muscle, he is psychically weak. He doesn't like exercising at all, so his body doesn't really bother him at all. He really cares about his appearance though, so would never let anything get too out of hand. Luckily his hyperactivity seems to burn off anything that is bad for him. His skin is fair, not too tanned like many other people living in other countries of the Mediterranean Sea region, but he is far from pale. As far as his build goes, Veneziano isn't particularly muscular or athletic. He just lacks real distinctive muscles.
Despite the goofball he is, Veneziano actually has a nice sense of fashion. Sometimes it can come across as a little dorky, but not in the bad sense of the word. Usually he is quite stylish, and being in Italy he had access to lots of nice clothes that girls would normally swoon over. Even though he likes to look good, Veneziano really does love caual and comfy clothes. In contrast, he likes wearing clothes of people bigger than him. Much like a girl would wear the hoodie or coat of a boyfriend, he adores wearing things belonging to others with big floppy sleeves when they let him.

Personality ---
Veneziano has a bubbly personality, but can be air headed at times. He is always cheerful and can act a bit childish. Most of the time he is very optimistic, though that can falter sometimes depending on the situation on hand. Either way, he would still tell people he is always happy because he doesn't want to worry them too much. Although Veneziano is certainly a kind person, he doesn't like to take no for an answer and likes getting his way which can make him be rather selfish sometimes. He can be a suck up to get what he wants, but he really doesn't mean it badly. On top of that, a one track mind at times doesn't help and leaves him rather easily distracted. Perhaps that is why he can never read the atmosphere fifty percent of the time.
The Italian is very sociable and loves bothering people into talking to him even when they really don't want to. Some of his favorite people to talk to are cute girls, who always seem to giggle and listen intently to everything he says. Though, half the time, he doesn't really know what to do with them once he gets them. Girls are easily charmed by his cute personality and innocent face. Luckily for him, this technique works on both genders for various things, not just getting cute girls. He can often get men to go easier on him too, though that might be out of something more like pity.
Growing up, he was always a bit dependent on others and never grew out of the habit. Most of the time he won't refrain from asking for help from others. In all honesty, he prefers it that way. Veneziano is certainly a well known crybaby and coward. He panics and gets intimidated all too easily. He hates any type on confrontations and avoids those at all costs. It is probably for the better, he isn't physically strong. Even if he is aware of it, Veneziano doesn't do much to improve. It is just the way he has always been, and he is fine with that. He lacks the motivation, anyways.
Perhaps since it is the opposite, he is great at household tasks. Veneziano would make a good housewife, Even if he is good at them, he can be lazy when he wants to be. Still, he can leave the house nice and clean, and make a dinner that can rival a restaurant's. He is also good at following directions....when he wants to. Sometimes his short attention span and rather hyperactive tendencies get the best of him.
Veneziano is known for his love of, and addiction to, all shapes and forms of pasta. He also holds a fondness of pizza. Since food is so important to him, he is a very picky eater and likes the best. Another of his greatest loves is art. Ever since he was younger, it was always something he naturally excelled at. Still, despite his kindness, Veneziano is the kind of person that will tell you your painting you think is a masterpiece would have looked better with different color scheme or focus point or point out flaws with a smile. After all, criticism on that kind of thing helps, right? Or maybe he is just too high maintenance for his own good.
Like many people who are childish, Veneziano gets frustrated and worked up all too easily over simple things. Though he doesn't lash out in anger like some people related to him, he can still throw a good little temper tantrum. This goes with the fact he can be a drama queen at times. He can act as though a paper cut is some type of fatal wound.
Overall he can come off as a bit of an annoying person. If he likes you, it is likely personal space isn't an option; he clings and doesn't let go. Veneziano also tends to talk with lots of hand motions, and has a small verbal tic where he says "ve". It is a speech problem he always had, so it doesn't bother him really, but it can be irritating at first. Really though, he is just a big ball of fluff who is extremely friendly and loves people. He makes an excellent friend and though he might not be able to handle standing up for them physically, he can be a good listener.
Another important part of Veneziano is the fact that he is very religious. He tries not to shove it down anyone's throat, but one should always remember this fact about him, as it has been very important to him since he was younger.

Fears ---
•Cultural Unification of Italy; There is no real 'fear of disappearing' in a phobia dictionary. For a human it is probably an irrational fear to even imagine. Humans don't really disappear per say. Deep down in his heart, there is always that small unspoken fear dealing with his brother. One nation with two diverse cultures. That is why both of them exist today. If culturally unified, one would disappear. He cannot imagine living without his brother, but doesn't want to disappear himself.
•Monophobia [ fear of being alone ]; For various reasons, hecannot stand to be alone for too long. He is the kind of person that loves human contact, and really depends on people a lot for so many different things. When he was younger, he felt alone for a while. His grandfather was dead, his big brother lived far away, and the only little boy who cared about him disappeared one day. Being so dependent on others in general, the thought of having to do everything alone, even the things that he knows he really can't do, is frightening.
•Traumatophobia [ fear of injury ]; Plain and simple, Veneziano hates pain, both physical and emotional. Though if he had to pick, he would say physical was worse. Everyone makes fun of him for being a coward, but better to be made fun of than be hurt. Ever get punched in the face? Not fun.
•Athazagoraphobia [ fear of being forgotten ]; Seeing so many nations come and go in his lifetime made him realize some things, some more near and dear to his heart than others. He doesn't want to disappear and be forgotten like so many other nations. He watched it first hand with his grandfather. If he had to disappear one day, he at least hope that he would be remembered and admired like Rome is today. When not applied to disappearing completely, the fear still stands. It would break his heart to have anyone on earth forget about him and never come back.
Lesser known facts ---
•He might seem a bit air headed and such, but he is really good with politics when need be. Today his half of the country tends to deal with things like that more.
•Most nations want to be super powerful and great. Veneziano has seen first hand what power can do to people and how it can be there one moment and leave you with nothing the next. He is fine just the way he is.
•Though Romano is always calling him the idiot and yelling it to anyone who will listen, people from northern Italy also think the same about the south. Veneziano might not verbalize it because of his personality, but at times he thinks his brother is an idiot too.
Goals ---
•To make every country get along as peacefully as possible with no more horrible things like world wars. Though naive, he does know that small things will probably always happen.
•He wants both him and his brother to keep the generally nice reputation he and his brother have as Italy as a whole. He really wants people to think of their country as a beautiful place of culture, art, and history.
•Tying in a bit with above, Veneziano wants to keep the spirit of his grandfather Rome alive with the world. Yes he will always be alive in his own heart, but he wants to keep the small pieces that still exist in nice condition for everyone else. Even his ideas.

History ---
The sad reality is that Italy as it is known today was born from the downfall of the Roman Empire. During this time, things were still dangerous with barbaric tribes running about all over Europe. A Germanic tribe known as the Lombards invaded Italy and split it up into three areas under rule by the Lombards, the Eastern Roman Empire and the Papal States. For a while, Italy was under the rule of the Byzantine empire, but it faded after another attack by the Lombards. Eventually, a rather tiny man named Pippin conquered the Lombards in the name of the popes. In 756, the Papal States were formed.
Shortly after, a man named Charlemagne was mysteriously crowned king by a pope. King of the Holy Roman Empire. In the years to come, many city states were formed. Soon, Spain was the king of the Holy Roman Empire, though eventually the rule was given to the Austrians in the 1700s. It is also worth mentioning that the 1400s to the 1700s was a very important time for Italy and all of Europe. It was the Renaissance. For years upon years, Italy was the center of so many advances in art and architecture for Europe. Many of the great artists known today are from Italy in the period, and are still admired today.
After the French Revolution, Napoleon declared himself emperor of Italy, but shortly after he was gone from the thrown. Italy was broken up into small kingdoms. A series of small revolutions took place and Venice, Tuscany, and Rome became republics. After this, Austria came again and got his hands on most of Italy. A few years later, northern Italy was joined to the Kingdom of Sardinia.
Then came a big event. The unification of Italy in 1861, forming the The Kingdom of Italy.
World War I came in 1914, and shortly after, Italy joined the Allies. A few years later, the Allies had won the war. In 1925, Benito Mussolini become the dictator of Italy and we get into World War II. Mussolini and Hitler signed an agreement known as the Roman-Berlin Axis. After conquering a few places, Italy sided with Hitler and Fascist Germany, and the two became allies with one another. On September 8th of 1943, Italy surrendered to the Allies. In the following month, on the 13th of October, Italy declared war on Germany. Mussolini was shot in 1945, and World War II ended after some events more dealing with American and Japanese history.
After this, the monarchy in Italy was thrown out, and was turned into a democratic republic. A few years later, Italy became founding member of the European Economic Community. Three years later, the country joined the United Nations. In 1984, Roman Catholicism was no longer the country's formal religion. In 1998, Italy joined the European Union. One year later, the currency was changed over to the euro like many other places in Europe.

Roleplay example ---
Tripartite Pact
September 27, 1940
The signing of a treaty tended to mean one of two things; it was the start of something new, or an end to something old. At times it was even a mixture of the two.
It was a bit hard to believe that all of these people were here from all over the world over a the simple signing of a piece of paper. Both countries, and important leaders were present. This was supposed to be a good thing, so why was there so much nervousness in his stomach as he sat there and took a look around the room? Surely he wasn't the only one with this feeling. A look at the other two nations in the room wasn't very reassuring. Both other nations were able to keep such calm and unreadable faces, while Veneziano couldn't help but fidget slightly in his seat.
One signature.
They were both very strong countries, and though he knew more about Germany simply from being geographically closer, he was sure that through this Japan would become closer with the both of them as well. For the next ten years, they would be in a military alliance with one another. The alliance stated that they were all to get along and support one another when needed in case of an attack. For this, Veneziano was very grateful. Honestly he didn't think of his country as weak as everyone always said, but he enjoyed the thought of having two other strong nations behind him.
This especially held true in a time like this. Even someone who hated wars and fighting as much as him could guess from countless past events that this whole war business wasn't going to end well for all of them involved. Sure, his country was involved in fighting in Ethiopia a few years previous, but his country wasn't the only one engaging in activities like this before the bigger war. Of this present group, all of them had been involved in something.
Two signatures.
Taking his focus off the chatter of busy people in front of himself, the brunette once again turned his attention to the other nations out of pure curiosity. Germany...it was last year that the two of them shared their own pact. The Pact of Steel, which was a pact of friendship between the Italy and Germany. At that point in time, there were some doubts about it going around his own country over this, admittedly even some deep down within himself. With a sudden sharp turn of the head, catching himself getting caught up rather obviously in his own thoughts, he turned his attention once more to the leaders at the table.
His attention span never really was the best. Luckily, he seemed to have stopped daydreaming at a good time. Now wasn't the proper time to be reminiscing on old thoughts and feelings.
Three signatures.
Today was the start to something new. A new alliance. Maybe even some new friendships. Whatever uncertainties that it was the start of, one thing was for certain now. Japan, Germany, and Italy were now the Axis Powers.
