To defeat the huns Ahem, well. Yes. So! I figure I should get start plotting soon, so I've gotten together a few events linking Port to the other countries here so far, and listed those below. If there are some more interesting ones or something else we've got in common you'd like to do with me then please let me know and we could try and give that a shot! I'm up for pretty much whatever at the moment, so this should be some fun~;
Australia: Well, it's disputable, but it could be said that I discovered you first; so that could be interesting. Quite a lot of my people like to emigrate to Australia too, so we could hinge something around that (?)
Austria: Your Archduchess Maria Anna married my John the Fifth, so we could have something of a wedding I guess. When she died, the body remained in Lisbon but her heart was taken to Vienna, so, that could be, interesting too I guess. my goodness what a strange thing to do to a corpse.
China: My goodness we have quite a bit. But 1517 during your Ming Dynasty would be a cool one to do. Or 1557 when I scared off those pirates for you, and you gave me a rather nice “present” in return. Recently you said you'd help bail me out of these money troubles, but you seem to be dipping your toes here a little bit. Perhaps a slight confrontation about your hesitant behavior?
Egypt: We never really did much together. We share embassies, but that's all I know. Your protests sparked a little anxiety and "discomfort" in Portugal, but I've no idea how we could interpret this.
England: Well, you scratched my back a few times, I scratched yours, etc., You also liked to beat me up from time to time, so we could try that out too I s'pose. Most of our wars though were hinged on your dislike of France though, and since we don't have one, that could be a bit tricky. We've always got the set up of our Alliance in 1373 though, and we can always argue about my not holding up my side of the treaty during America's war for Independence. The 1890 British Ultimatum was nasty too, that could be good fun. B)
Germany: Well, you decided to declare war against me in 1916, and we've got the Battle of the Lys, not to mention the aftermath, so that would be something different to try out I guess. We were good friends near the beginning of WW2, so that's another thing. You also seem to like making it perfectly clear you don't plan on giving me any money at all to bail me out, how we'd do this I'm not sure; but it's just another idea to throw on the table~
Greece: Let's face it, we're both utterly useless with our money. Other than that, I can't think of anything else we could do besides sleep around like the mopey children we are. You beat me at my own game in 2004, but we can keep that a secret, right? Keep that under wraps, no-one needs to know. You are still trying to get me into the Mediterranean Games I believe, so that's something else I guess.
Italy(s): We never really did too much significant stuff to my knowledge. If there is something I've glossed over though, be sure to let me know!
Japan: Well we first met when some Portuguese sailors got lost on a voyage, were blown off course and landed on your shores and received a very hospitable welcome, so that could be an interesting moment to play out! We signed a peace treaty in 1860, and you meddled with our seemingly good relations in 1942, so we could do something around that as well. Or we could just hang around and make tempura sometime.
New Zealand: Similar to Egypt, we don't do that much at all. We share embassies, and you like to beat me at rugby a lot but that's all I know between us really. As with the others, if you find something you'd like us to try, be sure to let me know!
Russia: Well, we have something here. It's not too elaborate or fancy, but we used to trade for a rather long time. We share embassies and signed an alliance in 1799, so that could be nice. You seemed to like bringing your Navy over on regular occasions after this, so there’s some potential for something there. (Although, Britain decided to stop you from doing this any more after 1904) Some members of your navy also helped out in 1895 when the Parliament Building decided to catch on fire, so similar sort of relation there as well. Things went a bit cold when the Russian Revolution started and we lost all contact for the next 50-60 years or so, so the beginning of that could be interesting if you’d like~
Spain: There is just, too much to list here. Far too much. I know we’ve considered the Fantastic War, but the Reconquista could be interesting, as could the Battle of Alcântara. The final days of the Iberian Union seem rather tempting too, if you’re interested in that. Let me know if you want to do something else, yes?
Turkey: My goodness you sure liked to try to beat me up, eh? I’d be quite interested in playing out the aftermath of Ksar El Kebir, which could be pretty interesting, if Alfonso ended up as one of the captured soldiers afterwards. We could always play out the fight itself if you want to as well. This was our main conflict really, but there were quite a few others, if you want to try out one of those~
USA: I sailed a little too far East a while back because I’m stubborn like that and landed in California in 1542, so that could be interesting; like a little unexpected, unplanned visit. During the Iberian Union, Portuguese and Spanish empires were merged together, so in theory, I held shared ownership over some of the would-be Southern States, not sure how we could interpret this at all though. Romania: Apart from something of a love of literature, we have little that went on here as well. We share embassies, but that’s all to my knowledge. I think Prince Pedro visited one of your kings once, but that’s a bit sketchy, I’m not sure about this.
Scotland: Nothing here at all I think. But I’m sure we could do something AU if you wanted. Just, drinking booze like fish and smoking like chimneys all night~

... I want to do it all. >:c
Fantastic War, La Reconquista, Iberian Union, all of it. I have wanted to do the Reconquista as well, pushing back the Moors... though the sibling spats are always fascinating. Do you have any one that you want to do more than the other or should we stick to the original plan~?

SpainHaha, I'm sure we could get around to doing the lot of them eventually; but from what we've gotten so far, I think we're starting off with the Fantastic War, yes? So If we start to plan this out a little further; If we perhaps started with the capture of Chaves, Miranda do Douro and Braganca already having occurred, so we're actually playing out the siege in the latter part of the war, I can see us getting the characters interacting more (and more often) rather than playing the War from the start. Otherwise Spain and Port would just be crawling around doing nothing for the most part of 5 months or so. Let me know your thoughts on this~ @turkeySounds good! Let me know when you're ready to start planning this out!

Hm... I would say that would work the best for us~ Now as for the start of the war, I think that it would be best to jump into the heat of things, as you said. I mean, it would be boring if you read three straight posts about how Antonio is on a boat, a freaking boat, with nothing to do. /shotshotshot
But htat said, I think that the capture would be fine -- I would need to do a little bit more reading on this, but do you have an idea of what you envision happening?

I don't see why we can't do a little bit of a flashback, or perhaps a before and after of the captures, but I think playing them out through and into the siege portion of the invasion would be problematic, what with Britain playing a fairly large part there; unless Gearr would like to join in, the bridging bit in-between would be deviating from history so much it'd be really odd.
I guess we could look back at it, or perhaps do it as a diary entry, maybe even play it out and then jump time forward a bit, but I think our focus would be resting more heavily on the siege.
But regarding the siege, I'm not certain how you'd like to play that out, but perhaps Port could slip out to the city walls during the siege, have slight confrontations with Spain then-? Afterwards we could perhaps play out the capture of the city and the aftermath I suppose. We could go into the latter events of the war if you really wanted to, but, I'm not sure if you'd want to take it much further after that.
Do you, envision anything else or different at all happening perchance? Let me know if you want to flesh this out a bit more, yes?

Yeah, I did some reading this week and it looks like UK played some part in this. Freaking UK getting all up in my business. >:c I think that it would be kind of neat if we played out parts of the flashbacks that relate to Spanish-Portuguese interactions and then perhaps pushing through what happened (with England involved) through journal entries and gritted teeth, I mean, fond/horrific recollections. ; So the journal entries would be more of a bridge -- or a cut to the reaction scene would work as well. I know that UK had sent men there, but as they are supporting troops, or something like that, perhaps we can just move their force around like they are under the Portuguese command or just as a third party that was there. I think that this may be the only plausible way as we do not have a France either. I would like to do the seige as well, since I'm sure that's where all the tension would be. I think that if there is a way for them to interact whether it be Portugal running out or Spain scaling the wall or something, that would work. I think that depending on what happens here, we can always continue. I'd imagine the encounter would be pretty emotional.

Well, since we've planned it out pretty solid now, I'm happy to start when you are. I hate to ask, but would you mind starting off? Get the ball rolling as it were? I've really no idea how I would start this up, I think it'd be best for me to follow your lead here. Feel free to send me your contact regardless, I can send you mine if you'd wish. I leave that decision to you however~

Sure, I can start it sometime when I get off work. Um... do you have a preference for how the feel should be? Serious or Hetalia-lulzy style?
I sent you my MSN! And am working on replying to you. >D

I have little as far as prefrence goes really; while I do get the feeling the latter events played would be fairly serious, I don't see why the preceeding couldn't be "lulzy", if you want to write it that way. I honestly don't mind, I'm happy to go either way.
So have I~ Oh? Well we'll see how that goes. D<
