Turkish-Italian Relations through 2009
(Several meetings between the two countries)

Lovino wasn’t in a good mood. Now, normally this wasn’t anything unusual for he was almost constantly in a bad or at least not all that good mood, but today he had an actual reason for his mood. If this reason was a good or a bad one depended on how you looked at it, but for the south Italian it was a good one and reason enough to wear a scowl in his face.
The mentioned reason was the fact that he was currently staying in Turkey and that he wouldn’t be able to get back home to Italy for at least another few days – three if everything went well.
All of this had started when he was told that he had to accompany their President Giorgio Napolitano and their Foreign Minister Franco Frattini to meet with some guy named Ahmet Davutoğlu in Turkey. He guessed it was the Turkish Foreign Minister, but he wasn’t sure. Usually it was his little brother who had to go to these kinds of meetings and so he was the one knowing all those people. Why it was Feliciano who always went on those meetings? Well, for one his brother liked to meet with the other countries, he seemed to like everyone and the whole world liked him back, always mentioning how nice, polite and fucking cute he was!
Well whatever, his little brother was just perfect to go to these boring meetings and Lovino himself was happy to stay in Italy doing whatever else there was to do, anything as long as he could stay home.
Ok, he had to admit that going on a meeting every now and then wasn’t all that bad. Really, he could accept that and would do his job; he did not even mind meeting some of the other nations. There were quite a few he got along with and even liked but most he just couldn’t stand and Turkey was one of them.
Of all the nations in the world, why did it have to be Turkey he had to sit in a meeting with? No… not just one meeting, he had to remind himself, but several because this is going to be a stupid three days long meeting.
Yes, this was a very good reason for the south Italian to be in a sour mood.
The thought of the meeting had already downed his mood for weeks and it had gotten even worse the moment he had stepped out of the plane and set foot on Turkish ground.
They had arrived yesterday in the late afternoon and were now on their way to the first of the hopefully just three meetings. Lovino was walking a few steps behind his President and his Foreign Minister, thinking about the meeting that was going to start once their reached the room at the end of the hallway. He had been told that this meeting was supposed to strengthen the bilateral relations between between their countries. Oh, how he was the right person for this job … having to act all friendly with a nation he never liked. He could remember the times when he had been younger, when Turkey – known as the Ottoman Empire back then – had tried to kidnap him, attacked his people and in general had just been a big pain in the ass. Even after all these years he had never put his grudge against Turkey to rest. Then again, he told himself, it could be much worse; at least he wasn’t going to a meeting with that pervert France - the mere thought of it made him shudder in pure horror.
Yes, it could be much, much worse.
He straightened up when they neared the door that would lead them into the meeting room, and with a sigh he followed the two Italian politicians inside. He looked around, took in the large room they were going to sit in for the next few hours and set his eyes on the two persons already waiting for them.
I hope this stupid meeting goes well so it will be over soon ...
Sorry it took me so long to write this but I hope it was at least worth the wait. Btw, I wasn’t sure were you wanted this to start so I thought the beginning of the first meeting would be good.
I hope you can work with it~
