Well my exams are over now soooo I'm pretty open to new RPs 8V
Spain; TALK TO ME BEFORE YOU START THE ARMADA. I want to know exactly which part we're doing, because I'm not having another run down of the opium wars where I sit there and just go jkghdjkgdf through the whole thing XD
I think we were going to start with them actually getting along...? And then go to the shit hitting the fan? Maybe we should span this over two threads?
Meri; We still cool for some FDR/Churchill bromancing in the Atlantic charter? If so you should bug me about it later so we can work out what we're actually going to do XD
Germany; I KEEP MEANING TO POP INTO YOUR THREAD but I'm lazy. Anyway, I'd love to do something with you... perhaps some WW2 stuff? I'm open for whatever though so do let me know c8
EVERYONE; I'm pretty open for anything really.... just not treaties. Do NOT ask me to do a treaty with you unless we get to do a war that leads to it (unless it's an epically awesome treaty for some reason), in which case yeah, I'm totally open to it. I kinda find these things boring, so unless you can find a way to hold my oh so short attention span with it just stick to doing a treaty with me after we've RP'd bits of the war that lead to it.
Bar for that I'm rather open for anything you can suggest <3
Btw, Canada, I'm a whore for your RPs so yeah, we should RP together more when you're up for it 8V Iswearweshoulddoanalliesmeetingthreadforthelulzatsomepoint

IwasactuallythinkingtheunofficialAnglo-Spanishwar... where we would portray their relationship being good and then going to crap. Perhaps start out with actual interaction, perhaps Spain comes over with Catherine of Aragon and it's all lolz. Then England and Spain becomes pen pals... to which we can do some nasty letter writing and exchanges here and there? That's just one idea.
We could slide Armada into that, though I don't know if you would ever treat that event as England physically imprisoning Spain... however, that's up to you. Webothknowboatridewarsarekindofboring. :c

England! Mein Freund! If you will not pop into my thread, I will invade visit yours!
I'd be happy to do something with you! I'm honestly up for anything, although I do think WW2 or WW1 would be the best for exciting/interesting ideas - there was plenty going on. I'll get some research going, unless you have any specific ideas?

I'll do a spot of looking into it later, though feel free to slap me about it on MSN and throw some more info at me if you have it~ And I dunno really. If you want to go down that road I'll just go with it. Provided I have something to work with and you're not just kinda tangent at the other side of the thread I'll work with it |D England! If not then get out >8(Uhm, when we get a France we could totally do some Battle of the Bulge stuff which would be like... America, Canada, England, and France.... against Germany XD Although, despite it being out of season I've always wanted to have a bash at the Christmas truce football match of WW1 if that's something that takes your fancy. Truly there's a lot, I'll dig around a bit more XD

Fingers crossed that we get a France! Ahh, I love the Christmas truce, but that's the same reason I didn't bring it up right away. I'm going to look up some things in my free time tomorrow, but let's definitely save that one!

Hmm. Ideas that aren't part of World Wars or involve Australia. *thinks* Got it.
1769: Captain Cook's First Voyage. Well, the NZ part of it, anyway. Captain Cook made landfall in Poverty Bay and had a run-in with the Maori where a few Maori were killed, and Cook's crew left without getting the planned provisions.
I think the only Treaty New Zealand and England have is the Treaty of Waitangi (1840) which actually caused wars between Maori and the British Crown/NZ Government rather than prevented them. XD It made New Zealand a colony of the British Empire, and once the chiefs realised what they'd signed away they were pissed off and started rebelling (war!). The Capital being shifted from Okiato to Auckland in 1841 didn't help matters much either.
Focusing on two major wars the Imperial Army took part in: 1845-1846: The Flagstaff War. A series of battles fought in the Bay of Islands, and at one point a whole town (Kororareka) was destroyed. One book I have has an account from the "Attack on Puketutu Pa" about a giant eel spirit protecting the village from the Imperial Army's rockets, and the village's chief (Hone Heke) being protected from the Imperial Army's guns by prayer alone. That could be fun to RP. ^^ This is a biography about the prophet who summoned the giant eel spirit: Te Atua WeraIn a later battle (The Battle of Te Ahuahu) the agreement between the tribe and the eel spirit is broken, and the eel spirit stops protecting them. This battle is between two tribes and the British Army isn't involved.
1863 - 1864: Invasion of the Waikato: The final civil war the British Army took part in, and resulted in victory to the British. Land was confiscated from both loyal and rebel tribes after the war.

gfhjkl no so fashionably late.
Germany; did you find anything? I keep getting things that would involve America and/or France xD;;;;
NZ; I really like the sound of the eel thing, though the flagstaff could be cool too~ Most anything you listed there would be very cool... but the eel thing stood out XD [asyou'dexpect>>]

I thought I was on to a winner with the eel idea. ^^ I've loved it since I first saw it in "The Penguin Book of NZers at War", and I was originally going to turn it into fic but couldn't get the right angle. It's history, battle, religion and magic combined, and I figure both England and NZ can see the eel protecting the village even if their people can't.
The repeated chopping down of the flagstaff is quite interesting too since it's an early form of protest (NZ: Go forth and protest! Make some noise and make people listen! <3 *approves as long as it's not on his birthday*) and we do seem to like our protests here. Sometimes they're really successful! o:
Should we try the eel one first, and then go from there? ^^

Hello~~ Want to do the Battle of Surabaya in 1945? In October, the Allied Force (led by England) came to claim Indonesia who ought to be their territory after Japan's defeat, but Indonesia had declared their independence before the Allied Force came. There was some kind of misunderstanding about the weapons held by Indonesian youths which resulted in those boys killing an English general, not to mention that they were already real mad when the Allied Force came and acted as if they own the place when they have declared independence in advance (at least that's what they thought). It ended with a full blown battle in the whole city (the peak is on November 10, or what we call the Heroes' Day) which meant a lot for Indonesia since it showed that she truly meant it with her independence declaration. More info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_surabaya
