*is brainstorming here, and hopefully doesn't scare anyone with ideas*
Rather than creating individual threads for ideas I figured one thread for multiple ideas might be better. I'm up for having a go at any of the ideas below, and if you have an idea relating to our countries feel free to bug me! ^^

America:
1838: Appointment of the US Consul to NZ, James Reddy Clendon.
1840: Signing of the Treaty of Waitangi (America's Consul is present for the signing of it)
1861: Otago Gold Rush (This is NZ's first gold rush. Miners from the California gold fields came to try their luck, and American miners may have been among them. ^^)
1943: The Battle of Manners Street, or "when NZ and America caused a riot". XD
England:
1840: Signing of the Treaty of Waitangi
1840s - 1870s: New Zealand Land Wars - Some of these were civil (Maori vs. Maori, Maori vs. Government, etc.), and others involved the British Army in some way. I'm just listing the major ones involving NZ and Britain here to try to keep it simple. ^^
1845-1846: Flagstaff War
1860-1861: The First Taranaki War
1863-1864: Invasion of Waikato (final involvement of the British Army in wars in NZ, land was confiscated from Maori by the NZ government after this war.)
Spain:
Some New Zealanders took part in the Spanish Civil War, maybe we can figure out something from that?
