*is brainstorming here, and hopefully doesn't scare anyone with ideas* Rather than creating individual threads for ideas I figured one thread for multiple ideas might be better. I'm up for having a go at any of the ideas below, and if you have an idea relating to our countries feel free to bug me! ^^ (Links are coloured for visibility. ^^) America:1838: Appointment of the US Consul to NZ, James Reddy Clendon.1840: Signing of the Treaty of Waitangi (America's Consul is present for the signing of it) 1861: Otago Gold Rush (This is NZ's first gold rush. Miners from the California gold fields came to try their luck, and American miners may have been among them. ^^) 1943: The Battle of Manners Street, or "when NZ and America caused a riot". XD
England: 1840: Signing of the Treaty of Waitangi1840s - 1870s: New Zealand Land Wars - Some of these were civil (Maori vs. Maori, Maori vs. Government, etc.), and others involved the British Army in some way. I'm just listing the major ones involving NZ and Britain here to try to keep it simple. ^^ 1845-1846: Flagstaff War1860-1861: The First Taranaki War1863-1864: Invasion of Waikato (final involvement of the British Army in wars in NZ, land was confiscated from Maori by the NZ government after this war.)
Spain: Some New Zealanders took part in the Spanish Civil War, maybe we can figure out something from that?

Yeah... I only really know the German and Italian and French and Russian involvement, but let me look into a bit -- I'm sure we can make it into something!

Only a small amount of NZers took part (I know there were volunteer fighters from all over the world for it), but their involvement was unofficial and not endorsed by the NZ Government. So if Will came over and volunteered in one of the battles in it'd have to be in secret, but he could meet up with Antonio while he was in Spain. This site has a bit of info about NZ's involvement which is a good start: NZ and the Spanish Civil War

Hey everyone, I noticed that all but one of my threads on here is dead. So does anyone who's still alive want to plot and thread with me? ^^

Jeeze, you cause one little riot and it goes down forever in history. XD Anyway, this sounds right up my alley. I'd totally be up for doing this if you're still interested?

Totally interested. <3
And a similar event happened in Brisbane, Australia during WWII as well, but I don't think it was over the same issues as this one.
